A Spiritual Spring

Song of Songs 2:12

The season of spring is welcome in its freshness. The long and dreary winter helps us to appreciate spring's genial warmth, and its promise of summer enhances its present delights. After periods of spiritual depression, it is delightful to see again the light of the Sun of Righteousness. Our slumbering graces rise from their lethargy, like the crocus and the daffodil from their beds of earth; and our heart is made glad with delicious notes of gratitude, far more tuneful than the warbling of birds. The comforting assurance of peace, which is infinitely more delightful than the turtledove's cooing, is heard within the soul.

This is the time for the soul to seek communion with her Beloved; now she must rise from her natural sordidness and come away from her old associations. If we do not hoist the sail when the breeze is favorable, we make a grave mistake: Times of refreshing should never be allowed to pass us by. When Jesus Himself visits us in tenderness and entreats us to arise, can we be so ungrateful as to refuse His request? He has risen so that He may draw us after Him. He, by His Holy Spirit, has revived us so that we may in newness of life ascend to the heavenlies and enjoy fellowship with Him. We bid farewell to the coldness and indifference of a spiritual winter when the Lord creates a spring within. Then our sap flows with vigor, and our branches blossom with high resolve.

O Lord, if it is not springtime in my chilly heart, I pray You make it so, for I am tired of living at a distance from You. When will You bring this long and dreary winter to an end? Come, Holy Spirit, and renew my soul! Quicken me, restore me, and have mercy on me! This very night I earnestly implore you, Lord, to take pity upon Your servant and send me a happy revival of spiritual life!

HOW TO ACTIVATE GOD'S WORD.

..if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.’ 1 John 5:14 NIV

While you are waiting for God’s Word to be fulfilled in your life, do these three
things:

(1) Verbalise it. The most effective way to pray is to speak God’s Word. The patriarchs, prophets and psalmists regularly reminded God of His promises in prayer, confident He would keep them. The surest indicator of God’s will is His Word. ‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us…we know that we have what we asked of Him.‘ (1 John 5:14-15 NIV) God always responds to His Word, always!

(2) Obey it. God’s plan for us is not just to speak His Word, vital as this is, but that we obey it (James 1:22). The hymn-writer said: ‘When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way; while we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.’ Obedience – faith in action – aligns us with God and He responds by fulfilling His promise to us.

(3) Share it. Parents and grandparents, ‘Take to heart these words that I give you today. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up.’ (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 GWT) You needn’t be a qualified teacher, just a sincere teller. Sharing God’s Word will produce fruit in the lives of your family, friends, relatives, business associates and neighbours, and also increase your own grasp and understanding of it.

True Worship Of God

True worship of God is an expression of love and loyalty unto Him. God desires us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Worship from us is likened unto sacrifice unto God.

“Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living  sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship."  - Romans 12:1

The quality of worship we offer unto Him shows the value we place on Him. True and sincere worship unto God is one of the sweetest part of our relationship with Him; it is an intense affectionate display of love unto Him; declaring His glory, thus provoking His presence.

I can still remember most of my encounters with God were born out of heartfelt worship that changed my life.
God is jealous God, who does not share His glory with another. He is a God of complete devotion, who is devoted in loving us and expresses His love unto us.

OUTLOOK TO POSITIVE LIVING: VOLUME ONE.

If you must achieve, go to the archives.

They say a reader is a leader, and that’s a fact. When you learn to read, you’re learning to lead. You can only be approved by studying. A man who goes to the archives, will achieve. Daniel says I understood by the reading of the books. Read books on issues currently before you, and most especially the bible; which is the biggest resource for solutions.

Perfection is not reached by assumptions or wishes, but through focus, consistency, persistence, and diligence.

Becoming a perfect sniper isn’t by assuming you are one, but by constant training and other activities that would enhance your display. No one becomes a medical doctor by just wishing and visiting the hospital.

Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. Keep a regular positive mental disposition towards your career. Make excellence your driving force by being constant.

The Thoughts Of God

It’s impossible for God to forget you. When the spikes were fastening His hands to the cross, your name was being autographed on them! Don’t ever think He’s forgotten about you. When you go through situations that has no reason to be in your life, you have access to make inquiries from the maker of your life.

Amazing Grace.
The plan of God for your life is not of sorrow; as a child of God, no matter what the council that is given. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.Jeremiah 29:11For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walkuprightly.psalm 84:11. His thoughts for us are so numerous for me to start counting.

“O Israel, trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield. O House of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great. May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 115:9

We must not give the enemy an opportunity to rob us of our blessings by the lies he tells. He is the father of all lies(the devil).

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola: Revivalist of the twentieth century in Nigeria.

Joseph Ayo Babalola (25 April 1904 – 26 July 1959) was the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, popularly called Aladura in Nigeria. He was credited with healing powers.
Early Life
Babalola was born of Yoruba parents at Odo-Owa, Kwara State, Nigeria.[1] He was brought up as an Anglican. He was registered at an elementary school at Oto-Awori on BadagryRoad, Lagos State, in 1914.[1] He got to standard four, before he became a blacksmith's apprentice and he learned it for two years, before he became a steamrolleroperator under the PWD (PublicWorks Department), then under the control of Great Britain, learning to become a steamroller driver. After 15 days of learning to drive the caterpillar, he was able to drive it without any assistance. After nine months; he became a master in his class. A steamroller was first given to him on 1 April 1928 to work on the Osogbo – Ilesha road. On June 14, 1928 he was transferred to Akure – Ilesha road.[1] On 9 October 1928 at about 12 o'clock he was by his steamroller by the river Ariran, it was here he heard a loud voice from above like the roar of thunder which called his name thrice saying "Joseph! Joseph!! Joseph!!! Leave this job you are doing; if not, this year you are going to be cut off from the earth."[1] Again On 11 October 1928, while trying to repair his machine, he heard an audible voice from the Lord to abandon the job and start preaching. That is how he received the call and he went into fasting and prayer. Ayo Babalola was sent out of the Anglican Church of his village by his Bishop because most members of the Church see visions; speak in tongues and pray vigorously. Babalola was baptized in Lagos lagoon in December 1929.[2][
3]
Ministry
In 1930 Faith Tabernacle affiliated with the British Apostolic Church. Then following a schism in the Apostolic Church about 1940, Bablola went with a new independent church, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), where he continued his healing and revivalistic activities until his death. The CAC regards Babalola as an apostle and his revival ministry as the beginning of the church. A CAC retreat center was built at Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State where Babalola was first called in 1928.
The Christ Apostolic Church has not died along with Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola in 1959. In fact it has grown rapidly over the years, with many churches under the Christ Apostolic Church name but each church with a specific branch name. The Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) a private Nigerian university located in Ikeji-Arakeji in Osun State, established by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide is named after him, located at the place where he says he was called by God in 1928.

Alive, Immortal, and Just Like Jesus!

'Anyone who believes in Me will live, even after dying.' John 11:25 NLT

The story is told of a nine-year-old boy named Philip who suffered with Down’s Syndrome. In Sunday school the other kids made fun of him because he was different. The Sunday before Easter, the teacher gave each of the kids a plastic egg and asked them to look for symbols of new life, like seeds and leaves, and then place them inside the egg.

The idea was to open their eggs on Easter Sunday and discuss what they had found. When the children gathered, they had collected all sorts of things like flowers, butterflies and rocks. But when the teacher opened Philip’s egg it was empty. One child said, ‘That’s not fair, he didn’t do it right!’ But Philip tugged at the teacher’s sleeve and said, ‘I did do it right. It’s empty because the tomb is empty. That’s why we have new life.’
The class gasped—and from then on Philip rose to a new level of respect and became part of the group. But Philip’s family knew his time was short—too many problems for one small body. So that summer he died. As the class of eight-year-olds faced the reality of death, they marched up to the altar—but not with flowers.

Together with their teacher, they each placed an empty plastic egg on their friend’s tiny casket. Why is the resurrection of Jesus so important? For two reasons: (1) His resurrection guarantees yours. (2) If you live long enough you will experience the heartache of losing someone you love. Easter guarantees you will meet them again—alive, immortal, and just like Jesus!

Building Good Relationships

"Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud…’ 1 Corinthians 13:4 NCV

Do you remember the elder brother in the parable of the prodigal son? He wanted the privileges of being a son, but not the obligations that came with being a brother. And because he couldn’t celebrate his brother’s return, it cost him his joy.

Contrary to what you may have heard, speaking critical words doesn’t make you feel better, it just makes you more miserable and keeps the issue alive. The Bible says, ‘Pleasant words are…healing to the body.’ (Proverbs 16:24 AMP) If you value your opinions more than your friends, you’ll defend your opinions and destroy your friendships.

When conflicts arise, step back and look at what’s really important. Give others the benefit of the doubt. When working with yourself, use your head; when working with others, use your heart. Learn to be flexible.

Thomas Jefferson said, ‘In matters of principle stand like a rock; in matters of taste swim with the current.’ Don’t major in minors, and stop fighting over things that ultimately make no difference. Be gracious with others in the same way God is gracious with you. Mature love allows someone who has failed to ease out of the situation with their dignity intact. Once you’ve made your point, back off! In life, you’re always going to have disagreements. They’ll either give you ulcers or give you understanding-the choice is yours. Don’t over-react.

When conflict arises make it a time to learn, not lose. If you’re serious about building good relationships, live by the words, ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’

WAKE UP!

God cannot be boxed or restricted in His move. So many of us have "traditionalized" God and indoctrinated the christian faith to suite ourselves. The issue of denomination has hampered the growth of Christianity as many work for their denominations rather than walk and work it God.
Churches have abandoned the great commission to win souls and have embraced capacity building, socialization and so on.The desire to remain un-scattered like the builders of the tower of babel has instituted the decline in the growth rate of Christianity. The Church must wake, and replenish the earth with her kind through soul winning. The commandment is:"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," Matt: 28:19.

The woman by the well of sameria preached the message of division, but the Lord Jesus corrected her wrong doctrines; John 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on thismountain nor in Jerusalem. 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him. 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

Yes there may be increase in the rate of church planting, but does that reflect in the faith growth? Many join churches to "belong", but not really to be safe or saved, as there are lots of competition out there  among churches; many claiming to be "mega", and others; the "best". Many have adopted corporate identities to be able to sell and sell-out.

we need to go back to our first love, doing what the Master wants of us. We did not choose our-self, but He choose us, and commissioned us for His glory.

The Importance of Family Time

'Here am I and the children... the Lord has given me!' Isaiah 8:18 NKJV
You don’t have to spend huge amounts of money to have meaningful family life. Children love the most simple, repetitive kinds of activities. They want to be read the same stories hundreds of times, and hear the same jokes long after they’ve heard the punch lines. These interactions with parents are often more fun than expensive toys or special events.

Dr James Dobson says: ‘A friend of mine once asked his grown children what they remembered most fondly from their childhood. Was it the vacations they took together or trips to Disney World or the zoo? No, they told him. It was when he would get down on the floor and wrestle with the four of them. They would gang-tackle the “old man” and laugh until their sides hurt. That’s the way children think.

The most meaningful activities within families are often those that focus on that which is spontaneous and personal… Busy and exhausted mothers and fathers, especially those who are affluent, sometimes attempt to “pay off” their kids with toys, cars and expensive experiences. It rarely works. What girls and boys want most is time spent with their parents—building things in the garage or singing in the car or hiking to an old fishing pond. No toy, to be played with alone, can ever compete with the enjoyment of such moments. And those moments will be remembered for a lifetime.’ You say, ‘But I’m so busy.’ If you’re too busy to get involved in the lives of your children, you’re too busy! Rearrange your priorities and start making some changes.

COURAGE: A FORCE OF DESTINY

There is a story about two good adventurous friends who embarked on a journey of discovery. They both wandered the desert which was enroute their destination. After much trekking under the scotching desert sun; they became very tired, thirsty and hungry. One said to the other; he was going back, he had lost the courage to go on. He was discouraged.
due to the fact that they’ve been unsuccessful throughout their journey. From a distance they had seen what seemed to be an oasis, but only to discover it was a mirage

After much plea from his partner to take courage perhaps the next mirage might turn out to be an oasis, which didn’t yield any positive response, they parted ways. The discouraged friend headed back home several miles from their current position. But his friend continued the journey with as little courage as to take the next step. Just five hundred meters from where they parted ways, he found a pool of water and beside it was the treasure they had been looking for in the past three days.

You may be faced with a hard situation and now contemplating a U-turn, just wait a minute, and take one more step forward.
This might just be the step that will usher you into the miracle you’ve hoped for. In the book of Exodus God asked Moses to tell the children of Israel to move forward in the face of the red sea. This is an act of courage. The four lepers in 2kings 6 moved into the camp of the enemy by an act of courage.
By courage Queen Esther entered the king’s chamber without invitation. Take that bold step and see the salvation of your God.

“Courage is what makes a man to try again and again after several failures.”- Kennedy Joseph Oshioma

“Courage is the ability to stand, fight, and conquer the rage of the enemy before you”- Kennedy Joseph Oshioma

You must resolve in your heart to protect your destiny, win your enemies and remain a champion. Our success in life is greatly dependent on our ability to stand against oppositions through the display of courage. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind. Joshua and Caleb withstood the intimidating report by an act of courage to possess their possession.

Always have the mind of a champion, because that’s who you are. Do not entertain excuses no matter what’s before you.

HAVE COURAGE AND FAINT NOT!

"In the world you shall face tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world." This is one of Christ’s parting statements to his disciples before ascending to heaven. The world is full of challenges, but we have an inbuilt mechanism to withstand all that the world would present to our faces. We must know that we are not alone in this journey, and that our victory is sure.

Courage simply means bravery. It is the ability to withstand any form of opposition with the belief of winning. It is acting on ones convictions despite stiff oppositions. It is taking a step of boldness in the face of fear. It is an invaluable virtue necessary in obtaining good report.
“Cowards they say die ten times before their death”“Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the test point.”-C.S. Lewis

Every man is born to be tested by time. It is your courage that puts you ahead when others are retreating. With courage you can take the word of God for your life and fulfill your destiny in the face of fierce adversity.
“Courage can’t see around corners, but goes around them anyway.”- Mignon McLaughin
I have been faced with so many difficult situations in life, but through courage I surmounted even the biggest oppositions.

A man on his way to fulfill destiny does not dwell in the land of uncertainty.” He rather sees the pathway to success through the eyes of courage. Your destiny is all you’ve got, so stand your ground. The things that present themselves as impossible situations are mere mirages.
Resist the devil and he shall flee."

Deut. 31:6-8, Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor .forsake thee…" Always stay courageous in the face of adversities. No matter how big they seem, there is a power in you that can conquer them. Let courage lead you into the battle field. Don’t let the enemy get to you with his old aged weapon or rather trick; which is fear.
The truth is that; fear cannot withstand courage; which is a tool of faith. The bible says in Proverbs 24:10 “if you faint in the days of adversity, your strength is small.
“Sometimes the biggest act of courage is a small one.”- Lauren Raffo

THY KINGDOM COME!

As part of our mandate to spread the gospel of life, and to reach out to the world, we are at it again as we shall be in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria for a three days power crusade. We are confident that God will glorify His son, Jesus Christ in the land.
It
is a matter of exigency that the message of the kingdom of God be preached to all men, for the salvation of their souls.
We shall also be having an outreach at the end of the three days where free reading glasses shall be distributed, children shall also be de-wormed; food stuffs and clothing for those in need. Our medical team shall be on ground other medical tests and counseling.
This is made possible by our partners and friends, who over the seasons have believed in us and have sacrificially given to the vision the Lord has given to us. God bless you all! Jesus Christ is Lord!
LUKR 4:18KJV:The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

WHAT DO YOU DO IN TIMES OF STORM?

There is...joy for those who promote peace.' Proverbs 12:20 NIV

One day in the middle of a raging storm, Jesus stood in the bow of a boat and issued this command to the elements: ‘Peace, be still!’ (Mark 4:39 NKJV) And to the amazement of His disciples, the Sea of Galilee became as calm as a millpond. Now, you may never do anything that spectacular in life. But when Jesus, the peace giver, lives within you, He’ll give you the wisdom to speak into troubled lives and situations and make you a calming influence.

In 1420 the German monk Thomas à Kempis said, ‘First keep the peace within yourself, then you can also bring peace to others.’ But you can’t give others what you don’t have. So where can you find the kind of peace he’s speaking about? Heaven! The Bible says: ‘But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere… those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.’ (James 3:17–18 NLT)

In a television interview Barbara Walters asked the highly acclaimed actor Richard Dreyfuss this probing question: ‘If you could have only one wish, what would you wish for?’ Without hesitating Dreyfuss replied, ‘Every time I have a birthday, every time I blow out the candles, every time I see a shooting star, I wish for the same thing… inner security.’ And guess what? The people around you feel exactly the same way. So, today be a carrier of God’s peace.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

According to the Scriptures, there are two kinds of life: life in the Spirit and life in the flesh. The former leads living in the realm of God's grace, while the latter is to death. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened the gate of life unto all, and they that believe shall have eternal life (Zoe). It is the life in the Spirit.

Deut. 30:19, I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: Therefore choose life, that both thou and Thy seed may live.

The moment a person repents and receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, he becomes a new creation; 2Cor.5:17. The life we have is Christ is entirely new; not refurbished nor rejuvenated, but entirely new. We become born of the Spirit of God. A new page is opened unto us, we start on a clean slate; without previous sin or record of sin and judgment.

Romans 8:1, There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The grace is now available for everyone in Christ to walk outside condemnation by a continuous walk in the Spirit. Reliance on the Holy Spirit gives us stability in God. We mustn't frustrate the grace of God through our independent on the Holy Spirit.

BIBLE VERSES ON FASTING

Fasting is an age long practice with either spiritual or health implications. Biblically, fasting have been used to express spiritual state of a nation or individuals. It has more of spiritual undertones than mere using it for health purposes. Prayer accompanied with fasting have to deep effect on any spiritual matter.
In the Bible, people have fasted and prayed unto God for deliverance from their enemies, for God’s mercy, healing, revelations, grace, Victory,  fellowship,
etc.

What is Fasting?

Voluntary abstinence from food, as a religious mortification or humiliation either total or partial abstinence from customary food, with a view to mortify the appetites, or to express grief and affliction on account of some calamity, or to deprecate an expected evil.
SOME BIBLE VERSES ON FASTING

Neh.9:1, NIV:On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and putting dust on their heads.

Mat. 4:1-2. NIV:Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2:After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

Act 12:2 NIV:While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Est.4:3 NIV:In every province to which the edict and order of the king came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping and wailing. Many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

Dan. 9:3 NIV:So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

Isa .58:6NIV:“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

PS.69:10 KJV:When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

Joel 2:10 KJV:Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

PS.35:13 KJV:But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

Mat.17:21 KJV:Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Act 14:23 NIV:Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.

Act 10:30 KJV:And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Lk.2:37 KJV:And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

Fasting must be combined with prayers and the study of God's Word to make it effective. Anything short of that is hunger strike. We must also understand that there is a place for the leading of the Holy Spirit in fasting. The Bible said; Jesus Christ was led by the Holy Spirit to fast...

FORGIVENESS (You Must Forgive Them)

You Must Forgive Them
'If you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you.' Mark 11:25 NIV

When asked which emotions contribute most to physical illness, a group of eminent doctors said, ‘Anger and unforgiveness.’ That’s because over time they release deadly toxins into your body. One doctor said, ‘It’s not what you are eating, but what’s eating you that threatens your health.’ When someone hurts you, there are four things you should do:

 (1) Talk to them. Now, there’s a right time, a right place, and a right way to do it. Before you say anything, ask God to guide your thoughts and words. Then say what’s in your heart in a loving, low-key, non-judgmental way. After that, leave the rest with God. He can do a better job of changing things than you can.

(2) Don’t retaliate. When you’re tempted to lash out at someone, stop and remember the price Jesus paid to take away the sins you commit. Seeing your offender through God’s eyes will help you to forgive just about anybody.

 (3) Let it go. As long as you dwell on the issue it’ll keep hurting you. You may let someone off your hook, but that doesn’t mean they’re off God’s hook. He will deal with them the right way and bring about the right result, which is something you can’t do.

 (4) Ask God to bless them. You say, ‘Are you serious?’ Yes; Jesus said, ‘Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you.’ (Luke 6:27-28 NIV) And when Jesus tells you to do something, He gives you the grace to do it.

DEALING WITH GATES (INTRODUCTION)

In this study, we shall take a critical look at what GATES are in regards to the topic. Firstly, what is a gate? A gate is simply a barrier used to bar the entrance into a fenced city or premises. It is usually made of a strong material with the capacity to withstand pressure. The gate is usually manned by guards who have been trained to resist enemies trying to breach it. The use of gate is an ancient practice by kingdoms, cities and homes. During war, the gate is the most protected part of a city, being the entrance or access into the city. In the event of which the gate of a city is breached, it means that the city dwellers are in danger. The gate is most times mounted by the strongest soldiers of the kingdom. In the Bible, we see various types of gates with each one with its unique purpose. There are physical gates as well as spiritual gates. Briefly we shall look at the various gates as mentioned in the Scriptures. For the purpose of this study, we shall dwell more on the spiritual gates, but will quickly enumerate some of the physical gates. Be aware that the main purpose of this message is for us to deal with spiritual evil gates presenting themselves against us. Jesus in Mathew 16:18 declared to His disciples one of His most profound statements in His ministry. The statement came in the heel of a deep revelation of Jesus’s true identity by Peter through the Holy Spirit. “KJV:And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” With this scripture we know that there are gates of hell contending with us; the Church of Christ. These are of course spiritual evil gates challenging our progress. But the good news is that they cannot prevail against us; on the contrary, we are on the offensive. Jacob in Genesis chapter 28 had a life changing experience, and concluded he had seen the gate of heaven. “KJV:And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 KJV:And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” In Joshua 6:1, the Bible tells the story about the children of Israel in their quest to possess the land God had promised them, but their path was blocked by a secured gate. Joshua 6:1, NIV :Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. We all know how the story ended… therefore I am confident that every gate standing in your way shall be brought down in Jesus’name.

DoesThe Present Church Need The Holy Spirit?

I have heard many say something like; the Holy Spirit is not needed these days, His gifts are not for now. They say miracles are things of the past. But with a good look into the Scriptures, we will see vividly the importance of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.
The Church of Christ was birthed by the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. He was the promise of the father according to the Word of Jesus Christ in Acts 1:4-5, KJV:And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5:For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Since we can agree that the Church of Christ was established by the promise of the father fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, and the power to be Christ’s witnesses is in outpouring of the Holy Spirit, it is therefore established that the need for the Holy Spirit today; is as important as it was over 2000 years ago. Acts 1:8, KJV:But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The world still need the Word of God, and the relationship with God. The world still need healing and many more. Today’s Church is indeed ripe and ready for yet another Holy Spirit revolution. John 16:7, KJV:Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
We receive salvation through faith in the Son of God and empowerment by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

FOUNDATION (UNLOCKING YOUR GLORIOUS DESTINY)

In this article, we shall critically look into the issue of foundation and its influence on people’s destiny. The greatest influence on anything that has a beginning is its foundation. It is simply the principle on which that particular thing draws its existence and strength.A strong foundation will surely guarantee a lasting structure in terms of withstanding pressure, and other militating factors. Foundation now; is the base on which a life stands. Without it, there is nothing, and a faulty one brings ruin. Psalm11:13, If the foundation be faulty, what shall the righteous do? The answer is also embedded in the scripture James 5:16… the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. Once a child is conceived, or even before his conception, God has a destiny for such a child. This is a destiny of greatness, and prosperity. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Like in the construction of a house, our parents are the first human contacts we have, therefore are saddled with the responsibilities of building our foundation; they are to channel our lives in the path we should go. Proverbs 22:6, “Teach a child in the way he should go and when he grows up will not depart from it”.

Some people‘s destiny have been botched by their parents through ignorance, and practices that are demonic. For instance what do you think will become of a child dedicated to a family deity at birth?
The foundation is the most important part of the human life, and must be critically checked for correction in the event of abnormalities in the life of an individual. It is impossible for anyone to fulfill destiny on a
wrong or faulty foundation because the foundation of a man has a direct impact in the life of that person.
A typical case study is the life of “honourable” Jabez. Jabez was a man with so much to offer, a man of honour so the bible says.
He was probably loved by many, and well appreciated. He had a lot of potentials, and displayed a lot of qualities that made him better than his peers. He was trustworthy, with great business acumen; people believed in his ideas and would always want to associate with him, but Jabez was a complete wreck. His life was a disaster!

A lot more people are like Jabez. People with great future, but are been denied of their inheritances due to some other person’s mistake or ignorance. If the foundation be faulty, let the righteous pray!
Jabez decided to pay his mum a visit; but this time a very unusual visit because of the motive behind it. His motive was to make a search into his numerous woes and failures in life. It is seldom said that, “a problem
known is half solved”. His mother told him the circumstances surrounding lures.his birth, and the part she played in keeping him in perpetual failure. She revealed speaking the wrong words into his life. She sewed the seed that had grown to challenge his destiny. Words are the pillars on which our destinies are built; words are spirit and has the capacity to either bring life or death depending on whose mouth there are coming from.
Jesus said; “the word I speak are spirit and life.”

SPIRITUAL WARFARE PART 3

Take charge of your environment:
There are spirits in charge of territories; every community has a prevail- ing spirit. These are demonic forces that create chaos in such places. They manipulate the people and put them in bondage. These are wicked spirits in high places. But our position in the heavenly realm is far above where they operate from. The bible says; we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places, far above principalities and power… this position mustn’t be compromised, it is a privilege position which sets us in an advantageous edge against our foe. Many years ago, I was living in a particular place in Lagos, Nigeria and engaged myself in intercession every mid-night between the hours of 12:30am to 2:00am. I would pray every night; binding evil spirits opera- tional in that locality. I would intercede for people; as many as I could remember. I was enjoying it! On this particular day after praying, I laid down to sleep; then all of a sudden I heard an audible masculine voice asking; “why did you choose to pray at this time of the night, are you the only one?” I was shocked at first, but quickly realized it was the prince of the air of that locality. This experience made me become more confi- dent, knowing my prayers have been effective against the host of darkness in that environment. Daniel 10:13, but the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but lo Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia The scripture above establishes the fact that; there are wicked spirits that work against the progress of people residing in a giving location. The prince of Persia does not refer to a physical being, rather a spiritual entity. Wherever you find yourself, make known your presence in the spiritual realm. Let the evil prevailing spirit in that locality feel your presence. If you don’t take your stand, you won’t be allowed to stand.
Engage the blood:
Revelation 12:11 ,…we overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. The blood of Jesus is a terrifying weapon against the devil. He can’t withstand the presence of the blood. He does not want to hear that phrase; “the blood of Jesus!” Few years ago, my wife was due to deliver our first child, and was in the hospital bed. There were some complications and I knew we needed God’s intervention for both mother and child to pull through. She recounted one of her experiences at the hospital after God’s deliverance. She said; one night in the hospital,  felt a presence as if in a dream; the personality came to her trying to strangle her, telling her she would die with the child.strength to mention the blood of Jesus, and that was it. She was free! Are you sick in your body, and need healing? Speak the word and deliver yourself from that spirit of infirmity. The word of God will restore your health. Psalm 107:20, He sent His word and His word healed and delivered them from their destructions Is your marriage having a hard time? Speak peace into the foundation of your marriage and see the Prince of peace revealed. Do not be deceived; the devil (Satan) does not want you to smile or pros- per; therefore he works all the time to see his plans fulfilled in people’s life. Take time and ask the Lord concerning that condition which seems not to change. The Holy Spirit will reveal details on the actions you ought to take. Like I said before, you are a winner and that’s what you must remain… Jeremiah 20:11, But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one; therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten
