Jonah In The Ship

We all know the story about this popular Evangelist of God. His story have been used to teach and preach on the importance of obeying God’ instructions and call on our lives. Anytime this subject is taught, emotions are high; people tend to readjust and realign themselves in the purpose of God for their lives. But nobody has really ever seen the damage this man brought to others in their own purposes.
The presence of Jonah in that ship brought an untold losses on innocent people going about their businesses.

Jonah 1:4, “Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5:All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

Many people are going through grave losses in their businesses, ministries, etc due to this Jonah factor.
“When the wrong people are around you, they influence negative occurrences.”
Wrong people does not necessarily mean evil people,  they are irrelevant people. These set of people may possess qualities that  would make you feel  importance of their presence around you is necessary . They appear very harmless, innocent, humble, etc. But the heart of a man is his judge.
Jonah was disobedient to God; which is a display of pride.
There’s false humility…
Characteristics of Jonah:
1. Disobedient/Proud : Jonah 1:3
2. Nonchalant : verse 5
3. Judgmental in his heart: chapter 3:10, 4:1
The presence of Jonah in your life can bring you heavy losses. It is important to prayerfully identify a Jonah before he boards your ship (fellowship). Because that Jonah may not be a fellow for that ship. Help him or her to board the right ship for his mission.

If you have just discovered a Jonah in your ship, prayerfully throw him overboard.
Jonah could be that man or woman in your life. You can keep the relationship, but not the fellowship. Fellowship simply means to follow the same ship in this context.

HOW TO CONQUER DEPRESSION

Proverbs 13:12, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”

What is Depression?
feelings of severe despondency and dejection.
This feeling comes through external or internal words spoken to the heart of the depressed person more than what they see or experience.

When we look around these days, you see a lot of frustration in our societies. A lot of people are in the verge of breaking down mentally due to several issues. There is economic tension, marriage squabbles, health challenges, etc.
All the above mentioned issues leaves nothing to desire in life by many.

Recently, I read a story about a man who committed suicide by jumping down from a skyscraper in Lagos. This man had lost his job through the prevailing economic tension in the country. He went into depression and thought the best way to get out of it is by killing himself. Wrong choice!

Depression is worse than insanity. I see it as a combination of insanity and frustration caused by a feeling of failure and dejection.

Since depression is caused by the frustration of not being able to fulfill a certain demand, it is important for us to understand and also know that there is nothing a man needs that can come from man. Therefore, man should never put hope in another man.

Our continuous trust in God without wavering will keep our hearts stable. Our hearts or minds are the table where everything that goes on are deliberated.

The Bible says; “ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Tim. 1:7
Fear is the gateway to all frustration in life. It sets a man up for all manner of attacks. The Bible says; faith is a shield, a protection against the attacks of the enemy.
Faith in the Word of God is a mighty force that challenges the forces of darkness. Depression is the work of the enemy and faith in God, I mean unwavering faith in God can defile it.

The word of God cannot and does not fail. If you have anyone who is depressed, continue in a daily basis, speak the Word of God into that individual. Let him or her hear it, it will build faith in the heart of the individual.

THE REVELATION OF THE ENDTIME TO ME

The night was like every other night in September, 2011. As usual, we had our night prayer at home. I went to bed at about 1:00am. Not too long into my sleep, I began to have a revelation in form of a dream. In that dream, there was an announcement made to the hearing of everyone on earth that at about 10:00am, there will be a release of the demons of hell from the bottomless pit.

The announcement came as a warning to everybody in order to escape the wrath of these demons. Every family was assigned a demon for torment, but there is an escape route for everyone who was vigilant.
At about 9:50am, the demons were released, which came as a surprise to most people, because many were unprepared. There was commotion everywhere, but it was too late for the majority of the people to escape the indignation.

I saw families being trapped by just a demon who had control over them. I called my family and told them to get ready, because the demon assigned to my family hadn’t seen them. I got home on time and asked them to follow me, because I couldn’t carry even the youngest in the house except my Bible in a bag.

I saw a friend who had become very rich at that time trying to carry all his possessions with him, my plea to him leave without his properties fell on deaf ears until the demon caught up with him.
All of a sudden, I saw myself on a very narrow path, which could not contain two people standing side by side. I looked in front of me, and saw only one person and I scarcely saw anybody behind me and I woke up with a Holy fear towards the days ahead.

When I woke the next morning, I asked the Lord to give me a scriptural backing for the revelation, and I heard Revelation 9:1-12, 11:1-19 in my spirit.
In that revelation (dream), anyone who got himself on that narrow path was safe.
Mathew 7:13, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”
For those of us you already Christian (born-again), let us walk in the light.
Romans 13:11, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12:The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13:Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14:But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
For you who have not yet accepted the love of God, this is your best time to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Now, pray this prayer after me; “Lord Jesus, I come to you as a sinner, I ask that you forgive me all my sins, I accept you today as Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that you died for me and rose again. Thank you for accepting me as your Son today. I’m born-again! Hallelujah!

TEACH US TO PRAY

TEACH US TO PRAY
So many people see pray as a time only to present our needs before God. Their mindset is how they tell God all about their trials and boom, God sorts them out. Yes, God is in the business of meeting our heart’s desires, but prayer is much more than request and response affair.

The disciple of Jesus Christ in Luke 11:1 said to Him to teach them to pray.
“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

They must have noticed that the prayer pattern of the Master was quite different from the norm.
2, "And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3, Give us day by day our daily bread. 4, And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

Firstly, we must see God as our Father, and address Him as such; not like a slave and Master relationship.
Luke 11:13, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

Secondly, we must go to Him with gratitude and present Him with heartfelt worship. “…hallowed be thy name.”

Thirdly, though the Bible says; “ the desire of the righteous shall be granted, it wise to ask for His will alone be established in our lives.

Now, looking into this pattern, it is obvious that the request for our needs does not come in the first three points in prayers. Before we even ask, He (God) already knows.

In prayers, God desires fellowship and a time of intimacy with us His children. It is a major line of communication between we and God.

CHURCH GROWTH STRATEGIES

The Church of Christ is a living entity with the fact that, the church isn’t the building housing the people, but Church is the people meeting in a building. One of the characteristics of a living thing is the ability to grow and develop.

The church is the body of Christ, which has the capacity to grow because it’s a living entity. Christ is the head and we are the body. The body cannot grow without a head. The church simply means, the called out, which in Greek is ecclesia.

Now, why should the church grow? In Genesis after God made man, He blessed them and said; “ be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth…” everything God does has a blessing for expansion. Jesus said to his disciples in Mathew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
That scripture is a proof of the need for the Church to expand locally and globally.
What are the most effective strategies to reach the nations for Christ and grow the local assembly even by the teachings of Jesus Christ?

The Holy Spirit :
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He instructed His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem for the most important moments of the Church. It was a strategic moment that would release them into spiritual success and growth for the body of Christ.

Luke 24:48,"And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
The above scripture speaks of the Holy Spirit, which in Acts 2, the Lord sent to them. The Holy Spirit is the essence of the Church and the help of the Church of Christ.
After the coming of the Holy Spirit, the timid Church became a vibrant one. They spoke the gospel of Christ without fear and mighty miracles were wrought in the presence of the people.

Teaching The Word:
Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
One very undeniable way to make disciples is in the teaching of the Word of Christ. The Word of God is a power carrier. Many have been convicted and converted by the word of God. A good teaching congregation will likely retain her membership than any other. The Word of God illuminates darkness and brings freedom to her hearers.
John 8:32, “32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Love Expressed:
The Church is an institution of love. It born out of love and will continue to grow through love. The early Church after Pentecost displayed a great degree of love amongst themselves. Everyone desires to be loved, even the unloving wants to be loved. Love is the strongest tool to win the heart of people.
Acts 4:32, “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.”

Be Creative:
The Church is not outside of its society, but should not also be influenced by it. The Church must find the modern and creative way to reach out to the people. It must create good standards void of compromise (godly standards). The Church must creatively engage the youths and make them welcomed without breaking spiritual rules.
1Tim. 4:14, “Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.”
Young people should be encouraged to use their gifts for the service of the kingdom of God.

Discipleship:
Disciples are disciplined followers of what they believe. A local assembly must do a lot to raise disciples; men and women who are sold out to the vision. Note the word; DISCIPLINED. A disciple is more than a member, he is a leader in his own right. A Church that raises disciples will not lack in growth. Jesus said, “ …make disciple of all nations…”

Prayer:
A non praying Church is like a car without gasoline. Prayer is the energy that provides movement or growth in the Church. Create a vibrant intercessory unit in the Church and encourage them.
James 5:16, “ The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].AMP

Dynamic Worship:
Intense worship session during Church meetings brings down the presence of God, which in turn releases the Power of God upon the life of the people. The Bible says; “…God inhabit the praise of His saints.”
With the above strategies, I am confident that your assembly is ready for new dimension in Church growth. These aren’t the only strategies, but I shall give us more in my subsequent articles. God bless you!

THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY

One day, I discovered a leakage in my bathroom shower and decided to put a bucket under the dropping. The water droplets dropped every seven seconds consistently. As I kept observing the dropping, my mind began to think about the possibility of my bucket getting full as long as it’s under the dropping and as long as the water keeps dropping.

Impacts are made through consistency and availability. It is important for us to understand the power of being consistent in whatever we are called to do and every assignment given to us.

What Is Consistency?
It is to be orderly, regular, constant, stable and unwavering.
1Cor. 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
There is grace made available for being consistent. It is a thing of decision to be constant in what you believe in.  There is reward for being consistent.

Imagine two people who were asked to fill up a  bowl each with water from the shower as explained above, and one decides to wait until there is a rushing flow of water before putting his bowl under, and at the end of the day there was no such flow. The one waiting for a big flow will go home with nothing, because he doesn’t believe in being consistent with little things or beginnings.
Being consistent makes you a Master in your field of life. It gives you an edge over inconsistent opponents. It makes you a brand, because you are always there. Ultimately it brings you gain.

Do not give up on  your dreams, do not give up in your prayers, do not give up in the study of God’s Word. Keep practicing that skill of yours.

Great Olympiads are men and women who consistently did what others inconsistently do. They are champions because they gave what champions give.

“You are not a Master in what you just did just once.”

Even our Lord Jesus Christ was consistent in His assignment on earth. He took the kingdom business so serious that I wouldn’t bother to eat.
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” John 4:34

Keep doing it , keep availing yourself no matter how big or small the assignment may be.

MAXIMIZING THE MOMENT

Col. 4:5, “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.”

Eccl. 3:8, “A time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”

Everyone has got the same time available to them on earth. We all have 24 hours in a day to either waste or take advantage of. In Nigeria, 24 hours makes a day, so it is in Germany, Israel, Iraq, etc. It is what we do with the time that sets us apart.
God isn’t a respecter of persons, therefore had made the minutes, seconds in one hour available to all people.
In this article, we shall look into three major factors that might help us maximize of time and to reach our goals. I call it AID!
AID in its literally meaning is to support, relieve, etc. But in this short write-up, AID shall stand for: Acquire + Innovate + Develop

Acquire:  People will only need you if you can meet their needs. People go to school to acquire knowledge and use it to solve problems. Use your time to acquire a skill and be relevant when time presents the opportunities.

Innovate: They say change is the only constant thing. The world is always looking forward to something new. Be the one that would do something new. Dare to try new ways of doing things out of the norm.

Develop: Growth is a characteristic of time and life. The relevance of a vineyard is the growth and development of the plant. Work on what you have to grow in it. That’s development!

AID: Acquire +Innovate+ Develop

HOW TO PUT AWAY SATAN

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
Satan is such a stubborn foe and must be resisted in everywhere possible. The Bible says; if we resist him, he will flee. We shall look into some ways to resist him or put him off.

1. Speak the Word of God in truth .
John 1:5, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

2. Be courageous
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

3. Pray Constantly.
“Prayer is a shelter to the soul, a sacrifice to God and a scourge to the devil.” So pray and pray constantly. Tell God of your own inability to detect and respond to temptation; tell him that you are utterly dependent upon his grace; tell God that Christ’s blood has been applied to you; tell God that you are his child; ask God to deliver you from temptation for the glory of his name.

4. The Blood of Jesus
Revelations 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

5. Bear the fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23:Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

These and many more ways are available for us to put away and frustrate the works and incursions of Satan in our lives.

Ten People You Shouldn’t Relate With

The Bible tells us to avoid certain types of people. People are necessary in our lives, but not everyone is.

In Psalms chapter one and the first verse has a lot to say concerning a certain kind of persons we shouldn’t let into our sphere.

Psalms 1:1, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
1. Ungodly
2. Sinners
3. Scornful

1Sam. 17:28, “And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.”
4. Discouragers
5. Judgmental
6. Angered by your guts

Gen. 37:19, “And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. 20:Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.”
7. Dream killers
8. Conspirators

Proverbs 13:20, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
9. Fools
10. Discord sower

It is important we avoid these such people if we intend to reach our goals in life. They are toxic and poisonous to destinies.

A DIVIDED HOUSE

God cannot be boxed or restricted in His move. So many of us have "traditionalized" God and indoctrinated the christian faith to suite ourselves. The issue of denomination has hampered the growth of Christianity as many work for their denominations rather than work for God.

Churches have abandoned the commission to win souls and have embraced "capa-city" building and so on.The desire to remain un-scattered like the builders of the tower of babel has instituted the decline in the growth rate of Christianity. The commandment is:"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matt: 28:19.

The woman by the well of sameria preached the message of division, but the Lord Jesus corrected her wrong doctrines; John 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on thismountain nor in Jerusalem. 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him. 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

Yes there may be increase in the rate of church planting, but does that reflect in the faith growth? Many join churches to "belong", but not really to be safe or saved, as there are lots of competition out there  among churches; many claiming to be "mega", and others; the "best". Many have adopted corporate identities to be able to sell and sell-out.

"we need to go back to our first love, doing what the Master wants of us. We did not choose our-self, but He choose us, and commissioned us for His glory."

My Five Greatest Marriage Lessons By: Ofure Elohiaghe Akinsanmi

Woke up this morning and realized I've been married 10 years. I'm no marriage counsellor but I do have some experience. Here are the 5 greatest lessons I've learnt...

1. Don't assume you know your spouse completely... Only God does. Familiarity can be your enemy. There are riches buried deep within your spouse. Its your duty to
lovingly explore and bring them out!

2. You can call forth the spouse you want. Speak goodness. Please try! The devil listens to your words so he can use them against you, so does God! God listens so He can use them for your good.

3. Learn to forgive completely. If you do not, prepare for a 'bitter' future. Unforgiveness brings so much pain.

4. You have to decide to make it work. Sometimes you don't feel 'in love' but you can act it. Love is in your heart... Its there! Don't wait for calamity to pull out those feelings.

5. God is number 1, not your spouse! They can't handle it! People keep running to God in times of trouble when they've made Him number 2 or 3! That's all o. Lol

I love you dear...always! My creative, eccentric, emotional, mischevious, phenomenal guy. Happy Anniversary!

9 Laws of Financial Prosperity and Freedom

Everything on earth works under one principle or more. These principles are also laws which governs the existence and growth of that entity. There is the law of life and the law of death. Laws sets the rules how a system should function. They guide the entity into a successful path to success.

Joshua 1:8, “ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Below, we shall look into few principles or laws that are able to lead us into financial prosperity and freedom. This forms the first part of a three parts article.

1. Principles Sowing and Reaping:
This the oldest principle for growth and increase. Sowing is the deliberate practical way to give to the soil with an unwavering expectation to harvest from it. It is what you sow that you shall definitely reap. But note that, you don’t reap exactly the same quantity you sowed.

Luke 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

The scripture here says: “ For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” This means that; if give more, with an attitude of love, you will definitely receive more. It is a natural principle of sowing and reaping.

2Cor. 9:6, “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”

2. Law of Association:

Psalm 1:1, “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

A man who does not associate himself with the ungodly, the sinful and the scornful is a blessed man.

Verse 3 says: “ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

A man’s association speaks much of him. It is his kind.  An association of fools is condemned.

Proverbs 13:12, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

3. The Law of Vision:

“What you cannot see, you cannot reach.”
Vision is not just able to see physically, but being able have a deep inspirational concept of the future or desire.

Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Vision is a clear conscious and subconscious insight to the future.
What is your financial vision?
Vision helps you to plan. It makes you to sit down and put a robust working plan towards your financial goal. Have a financial growth plan. It works, it pays to have plans for any path we wish to walk on.

Identify Your Potentials 3: Unlocking Your Glorious Destiny

Speak About Your Talents:
Joseph was a young man with a rare talent; the talent of dreams, and its interpretations. Joseph in his days would have had some dreams that came to past. His family and his peers knew his gifting. His brothers were able to live with his numerous dreams until one day he came with one that shook the whole family.

Joseph never stopped talking about his talent. He never stopped displaying that which made him different from the lot; despite the many troubles he got from speaking up. Your gifting shows the direction of your destiny.
In Gen. 39:2-5, Satan using his brothers, made the attempt to destroy his destiny by selling him out to Ishmaelites who in turn sold him to Egypt. They thought it was over for him!

"The ploy of the devil to frustrate you will only give you a divine transfer."

Joseph was transferred to his place of honour, where he will be appreciated, and where his destiny would be fulfilled.  Those who honour your abilities will benefit from your manifestation. Believe in yourself, and be your number one fan.

Joseph did not get discouraged. He forged ahead; he continued in doing that he knew how to do better than others. Even when in prison, Joseph continued functioning. He showcased his abilities before king Pharaoh’s butler and baker which ultimately brought him to the fulfillment of his destiny.

No matter what your circumstances are, keep being diligent, and one day, you shall come before the king for honour. Seeth a man that is diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men (Proverbs 22:29).
The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious (Proverbs 12:27).

6 Reasons Prayers Are Not Answered

Prayer is one of the only ways to communicate with God and also the major way. It is a two way conversation which means; both parties involved (God and man) are supposed to be active in it. God is always active and expects us to also fellowship with Him in the place of prayer. God hears every prayer, but does not answer every prayer. Why then?

“O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.” Psalms 65:2

So many people have been praying, but have not seen answers to their request. This cannot be God’s fault, but ours. If this is our fault, we have to find solutions to it.

DOUBT:
Doubt is a heart condition that disbelieves in the ability of God to do that which he has requested. It is a condition of double mindedness. When we pray and still have doubts in our hearts, we activate impossibility and never receive answer to our prayers. God only respond to FAITH.

James 1:7, “For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

UNFORGIVENESS:
When we live in grudges and unforgiveness, we set the stage for unanswered prayers. You cannot come to God with bitterness against another person and expect God to answer you.

Mark 11:25, “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.”

SELFISHNESS:
This is also called self centeredness. When prayer is made with this mind set, it meets opposition. When we make requests and all in our hearts are to satisfy ourselves without others in mind, we get a No from God.
God blesses us so that we can become channels for His blessings.

James 4:3, "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”

OUTSIDE GOD’S WILL:
God works by principles and therefore does not break it for anyone. When we pray outside the will of God, no matter how fervent our prayers are, we will not receive answers. For our prayers to be answered, we must pray according to His will. The will of God is found in His Word.

1John 5:14, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”

UNCONFESSED SIN:
This a is major setback in prayers. We are not going to speak so much about what sin is, but only to highlight the truth that; if you come to God in prayer, it is important to come to Him without sin. I’m in no way saying that a person with sin cannot come to God, but rather not pray and hide his sin. CONFESS!

Psalms 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:”

INGRATITUDE:
This is the lack of proper appreciation or thanks for a favour received. When we receive a promise of a gift from someone, we tend to appreciate their kind gesture even before the promise is delivered. In the place of prayer, it is important for us to so our gratitude unto God, because our request will be looked upon favourably.

Phil. 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Beloved, God is more willing to answer our prayers than we are willing to pray in line with His will. The above points are not all that militates against our prayers, but if we can work on them sincerely, we shall see a lot of breakthroughs in our prayer lives.

Identify Your Potential 2: Unlocking Your Glorious Destiny

Training:
Whatever you want to in life requires training. Even Jesus was trained by a rabbi according to Jewish tradition. By the age of twelve he was already Bar Mitzvah, son of the commandment.  Whatever gifts you have will be maximize and turned to excellent skills when you get training. Even if you have to be an intern, do it to gain the edge.

Vision:
Vision is the faculty of being able to see. Waste is the consequence of not having a vision. Vision is what drives you like the Star that drove the wise men to seek Jesus. It is the picture in your heart that forms the reason you do the things you do.

Build your capacity:
Build your capacity. Invest in fresh exploits. Expand your circle of friends. Read, read and read.
Be up and doing, that you might be found useful when needed.

A man’s assignment is to first of all identify his gifting (that is his honour), and then locate himself in the place of honour (a place of relevance). Your honour is your talent while your place of honour is your target market. Every product has its own market. Every television show has its own target audience, so is your talent. A size nine shoes is not manufactured for everyone who can wear shoes, but for those it fits. You are a miracle waiting to happen; an answer ready to be taken a solution waiting to manifest.

FAITH FOR HEALING

The subject of Faith have been taught over and over, but it seems many still do not understand what faith is and what faith isn’t . Faith is not a commodity we go about looking for to buy. It is not a scares commodity that is being hoarded by a few. No! It is as simple as depending on what the Lord has said.

Heb.11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Without faith we cannot work with God, it is bases on which God works with us. When we appear before, the only thing He recognizes is faith. It is the legal spiritual tender for which we can transact business in the heavenly realms. Doubt is a fake and counterfeit presentation of our request.

Faith is the spiritual password that gives us access to all that the Father had done for us.
1 Peter2:24, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. Luke1:45

If the Word of God says we have been given power and authority, the performance of that word is hung on the balance of our faith; whether or believe or not. God will only perform in relation to our faith.

Healing is not a trick, an act or magical conjuring. It the life from, it is God’s nature…it is the kingdom beauty!

THE GREAT WHORE

Rev.14,17,18. Isaiah 47, Nahum 3
She is also known as; the virgin daughter of Babylon, the mistress of witchcraft and Babylon the great.

This spirit seats upon many waters and mountains which connote; peoples, nations, empires, languages, and their kings and human rulers. Because she is in charge of the world's system of perception, reasoning and governance, she will at a stage produce the beast and the false prophets. This spirit is the personification of all forms of occultism, immorality and idolatry.

This spirit manifests as a female deity because, she is the revelation and manifestation of all forms of false churches and false brethren. Because she controls kingdoms and nations, she has in the past raised up human figures of worship which were direct representation of being. This include the worship of Mary in the Catholic church and in Islam. In this last days, she will raise up the Beast who will engulf the entire world in idolatry. All tyrannic rulers are her servants.

Just like the church is the bride of Christ, her activities are tailored towards false churches founded on deception, rooted in occultism, idolatry, witchcraft and pollution of the highest order which will eventually evolve into a bride known as the church of Satan. The essence of the institution of false churches is to swallow up the bride. This is the reason why she feeds solely on the blood of saints. She accomplishes this by the tools of deception, temptation, persecution, attacks, false accusation, pride, denials, misunderstanding, self centeredness and a host of others.

This great whore lives and operates from her realm known as; Babylon. Her exploits dates back to the tower of Babel where mankind practically worked towards living dependently totally detached from the One who created them.

This spirit is wealthy. She controls the world economy and businesses right after the fall of man. The various gods of mammon are her servants.

This spirit and her Babylonian kingdom in Rev 18 will be destroyed by fire. This fire speaks of the all consuming revelation of God and the consecration of the saints in living in that light. Heb 12:29. 2Thess 1:8-10. The ultimate power is the fire power. This is why the glory of God is often depicted as devouring fire. Ezekiel 1.

"DON'T LET THE WOUNDED SOLDIER DIE"

See all the wounded
Hear all their desperate cries for help
They're pleading for shelter and for peace
Our comrades are suffering
Come let us meet them at their needs
Don't let a wounded soldier die, oh, no
Come let us pour the oil
Come let us bind their hurt
Let's cover them with a blanket of His love
Come let us break the bread
Come let us give them rest
Let's minister healing to them
Don't let another wounded soldier die.

The lines above are the lyrics of a song made popular by the American gospel singer; Helen Baylor: “Don’t Let The Wounded Soldier Die.” It is such a powerful song that makes me think of the way we treat one another in the kingdom. When your brother in the Lord is hurting, what do you do? Do you feel his pain, or you rejoice in it?

As Christians, we are one army, we are comrades in arm. We are fighting a common enemy who is not joking concerning the war. I have been in the faith for quite a time to understand that things are not the way they should be. A kingdom divided against itself shall not stand.
Denominations have created different nations out of one kingdom, and Bible says: “

Mathew 12:25, “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”

We are one, one in Spirit and in calling. We are the ambassadors of the kingdom of God. Let’s fight together, let’s fly the banner and stand for the wounded soldiers. It is in our place to keep watch for our brethren; bind up their wounds and shield them from the   of the enemy.
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." Gal. 6:1

DON’T LET THE WOUNDED SOLDIER DIE.

LOVE CAN DOUSE THE TENSION IN NIGERIA

I was born in northern Nigeria, Kaduna State to be precise, but
originally from southern part of the country. My father was a soldier in the Nigerian army and my mother was a trader as far as I can remember. My neighborhood in Kaduna was quite a mixed one. I can still remember some my childhood friends; Segun, Usman, Jumai, innocent, etc. The aforementioned were friends I had in my nearly years in life. We all played together, our parents related with one another. We shared gifts during “religious” celebrations and none discriminated against the other. I can still remember how my  mother would send cooked food very early on Christmas mornings to our Muslim neighbors, the same they did to us during their Salah celebrations. It was all fun! But now, it’s a different story. Hatred is now the message being preached…kill them all is the chorus in a city and a country that once held people together in unity. Why? Do we have a new breed of Nigerians? Sometimes I wonder if this is actually a religious matter or there’s more to this divisive cankerworm eating up the very things that have kept us together for this long. Someone may say; “the politicians are the bane of our unity.” Yes, I quite agree with that to extent. The truth is that; it is to whom you believe, you serve.

I am a Christian and have read Bible for many years and have seen the truth for myself, I have touched the truth and heard from the truth. I am not a religious bigot, but I’m addicted to the truth about the Word of God as written and as experienced.I must also say that; Christianity as introduced by the Lord Jesus Christ is not a religion, but a relationship. It is a family affair, where there’s a father and his children. Religion is an act, Christianity is a life.

Jesus said to His disciples to love their neighbors as their self.
Luke 10:27, “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”

Lev. 19:18, “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.”

Now, who is your neighbor? From the beginning of this article, you would find out who our neighbors were in Kaduna. They weren’t entirely Christians, but we related to them with love.
The bases of our relationship with God is to the extent at which we express LOVE to others. You cannot say you love God and obey His commands, but hate your neighbors to the extent of killing them, burning down their properties, kidnapping and rapping their wives and daughters in the name of God. No, that’s not nature of the true one and only Almighty God.
Yes, religion over the years before Jesus Christ came was the only way man could try to reach out to God ; which requires the killing of bulls and rams for atonement of sin. But Jesus Christ has bridged that gap between man and God through the sacrifice of His blood on Calvary.

“Faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only true way to God.”

“Religion breeds contentions, because it is based on acts that would only lead to competition.”

Prov. 10:12, “Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.”

In recent years, many religious groups have been teaching their ignorant followers on the need to be hostile and violent to prove their supremacy. The Lord Jesus Christ in His entire life time was never involved in violence, He never instigated any war; neither any religious or civil disorder. He preached love and peace, because he is love and the Prince of Peace is His name.

By the grace of God, we work as missionaries to the northern Nigeria, though we are based in the south. This can only be possible through the love Christ that has been shared abroad in our hearts.

Identify Your Potentials 1 : Unlocking Your Glorious Destiny

Every man is created for a purpose, and the purpose of every man is to bring pleasure.
You are created with specific functions on earth; functions to bring solution to a decaying, and disturbed world. No man is made useless or without a potential, gift, or talent. I have seen people with great speaking skills, but can’t sing a note. We are all made uniquely for the purpose of making profit through the fragrances we offer to the world.
Your talent places you in the position of honour. It makes you a sought-after, and ultimately brings glory to God.
Just a great footballer would need skills, there are four skills you must acquire to master your destiny. Just follow me. I believe God has something to say to you.

The Use of Time:
Time is the currency for your destiny. Time is the universal gift of God to all men. Hour after hour, and day after day, a man’s life is done spent. Do things in their right time. Make each day count and you may have made a fulfilling season. The time you spent folding your arms rather than get up to something is a careless waste of destiny. Even if you do not have a job yet, don’t spend your life sleeping. You have 8,760 hours in a year. If you spend ten hours per day sleeping, you may have slept 3600 hours sleeping. That is 150 days of the year. Now if you spend another ten hours watching movies and chatting on the social media, you have another 150 days of the year. 300 days in a year on sleeping and surfing. You have just 65 days left. Think about it.

HEALTHY CONFRONTATION 2

Healthy Confrontation (2)

'A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.' Ecclesiastes 3:7 NKJV

Confronting at a time when the person is most receptive takes wisdom. Wife, when your husband first comes home from work, give him space before you bombard him with the problems of the day. Husband, don’t wait until you arrive at the event to tell your wife you don’t like the outfit she’s wearing. Tell her when she can do something about it. And you should make every effort to confront a person when he or she is alone, just as Jesus commanded: ‘If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private.’ (Matthew 18:15 NAS) Confronting someone in the presence of others can cause them to become defensive in order to save face. Your goal is reconciliation, not embarrassment.

If you have something ‘heavy’ to tell someone, it’s not a good idea to have the confrontation at their house or yours—select a neutral location. That way it will be easier for the person being confronted to leave the scene, if he or she becomes belligerent. And there’s always the possibility that this could happen.

Sometimes you have to temporarily lose people, to win them later. ‘He who rebukes a man will find more favour afterward than he who flatters with his tongue.’ (Proverbs 28:23 NKJV) Note the word ‘afterward’. If you don’t get the immediate response you desire, you can still win—especially if you pray, relying on the Holy Spirit to work in a person’s heart. But you must be willing to take the risk and confront the situation in order to bring about the change you desire. If you don’t, things will remain the same—or get worse.

SPEAK THE WORD FOR YOUR HEALING

The Word of God is God Himself. Therefore, when we speak God’s word in faith, we speak his presence into the prevailing situation. The word is Spirit, because God is Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. In His presence there is fullness of joy and his right hand pleasure forever more.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…John1:1

Peradventure you are reading this book and you are sick, I want you to open your mouth and begin to speak the word of God for your healing. Keep speaking it until you’re healed… God watches over His Word to perform it. Anywhere His Word is spoken, he manifests His presence.
Declare These:
My body is the temple of God, therefore sickness, you have no right over my body. I declare that I am healed in Jesus’ name, because by the stripes of Jesus Christ I was healed according to Isa.53:5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Therefore I am healed and live in divine health.

Isa.58:8, “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.”

Keep declaring God’s plans and intentions for your health. Do  not believe in the lies of the devil. The devil’s trick is to suggest to people that sickness is terminal and cannot be cured. There is not condition that has the capacity to defile God’s Word. Even Lazarus died and after four days Jesus brought him back to life. What is more desperate condition than death? No matter what the name doctors have coined for that health challenge, the name of Jesus Christ is able to set you free.

One day, I suddenly woke up with an excruciating pain in my left knee; the pain was so much that it was becoming embarrassing. I could not take anymore and spoke healing upon my leg, and immediately I became totally healed and whole. I spoke in faith, I rejected the pain , I didn’t want to manage the situation by nursing it, rather I out rightly rejected it.
“Any seed of the devil you manage, may turn out to damage you.”
Romans 10:8, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;”
Always keep the Word of God on your lips, meditate upon it in your heart and it shall be well with you.

WHAT THE CHURCH NEEDS TO DO TO SAVE NIGERIA

It is no news that our nation Nigeria is in a deep economic crisis. Prices of commodities have skyrocketed to high heavens and no one seems to have a clue on what to do in a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the people. Economic experts are oblivious of the solutions to the crisis which is actually a life threatening one. How did we get to this point? Someone have asked.

Prov. 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Another version says; “Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable.” Douay Rheims Bible.

When you look around, you will not find it hard to see the miserable state of the people. The other day, I heard how a woman left her child as a collateral in the market just to be able to get food for the rest children. Is this not pathetic? Many more are doing all sorts of things to survive. I’d this God’s plan for such a blessed and great country like Nigeria? Of course not! How did we really get here?
It all started when men purposed in their hearts to shed innocent blood. Our politicians have sold their souls to the devil in exchange for power and wealth. When Achan stole the accursed things in the camp of Israel, the whole nation suffered. Many of our nation’s politicians killed to get to where they are today. The blood of the children, women and men murdered for ritual purposes are crying against the nation.
Joshua 7:1, “:But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled”

The Islamic terrorists in northern Nigeria are ravaging the land and spilling human blood like it’s that of rams. These killings are also sacrifices to their altars and the quest to dominate others. In all these, what did the Church of Christ do? Sleeping, quarrelling amongst her self, and competing for who had this or that.
“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” Mathew 13:25.
To sleep is to be off guard, to be unaware of the goings around, to be carried away by worldly affairs etc. The church stopped praying, stopped loving, stopped evangelizing, and so on.
God depends on the Church in bringing sanity in the society where she is.
The Church is the people of God, called by His name to represent His intents. The Bible says; “we should make intercession…”

“Mind you, a divided Church can never win a common war.”

The unity of the Church at this time is most paramount to rescue this nation from the hands of the enemies of God.
2Chr. 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
What does this text entails? It speaks of the unpleasant situation of the land and the remedy. This also reveals that it is in God’s heart to turn around the condition of the land.
Firstly, it says; “if my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray…”
God expects the church to deal with pride. We stop priding our different denominations as the best, the largest in membership and face realities. “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6

Prayer is s more than just communication with God, but puts us in deep fellowship with him. When we pray continually, we have access to His power and grace, and much more, His mind.
“Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:” Joel 2:15
“Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?” Joel 2:17.

The truth is that, the true change we expect can only come from God, not man. Ordinary men cannot up turn spiritual matters.
I remember in early 2015, when God revealed to me what will become of Nigeria. This was before the elections. The Lord said that; the emergence of this present government in Nigeria will cast a dark cloud over the nation and there shall be sufferings. The devil at that time succeeded in creating division in the Church. We didn’t have a common stand, while the enemy was very united.  But the solution lies in the Church by going back the Lord.
The united is lifeline of the nation, therefore, it is important for the Church to gather in one accord and subdue the incursion of the enemy and his cohorts.
