Winning with Angels
There are privileges we have as children of God that many believers do not recognize. As a result, we often struggle unnecessarily and pray ineffective prayers. The Kingdom of God operates on divine principles—principles that cannot be broken. Just as understanding a nation's constitution helps a citizen claim their legal rights, understanding the spiritual principles of God's Kingdom empowers believers to walk in victory.
One of the most overlooked rights is our relationship with angels. Many Christians mistakenly believe that angels are superior to the children of God. This is like saying the cook in a household is more important than the child of the house. As valuable as the cook may be, the child is the rightful heir.
This brings us to the focus of this message: "Winning with Angels."
Angels: God’s Ministering Spirits
The Bible clearly teaches that angels are sent to serve God’s children:
"Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"— Hebrews 1:14 (KJV)
As believers—heirs of salvation—we have divine access to the ministry of angels. Angels are not to be worshipped, but they are powerful spiritual beings assigned to assist us, especially in spiritual warfare.
We must understand that angels respond to the Word of God spoken in faith:
"Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word."— Psalm 103:20 (KJV)
When we declare God’s Word with authority, angels are activated to carry out divine assignments on our behalf.
A Personal Encounter with an Angelic Warrior
Some years ago, my family was going through an intense season of difficulty that defied all human solutions. The situation was embarrassing and burdensome. One night during a vigil, as worship was going on, a song of warfare was raised. I knelt in prayer, fully engaged in worship, when suddenly my spiritual eyes were opened.
I saw a majestic figure—his legs towered so high I couldn’t see his waist. He held a drawn sword. Alarmed, I asked who he was. He responded, "I have come to stop the war."
Immediately, the scene reminded me of Joshua’s encounter with the angelic commander of the Lord’s army:
"And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?" Joshua 5:14 (KJV)
That night marked a turning point. The long-standing battle ended miraculously, and within days, the situation that had plagued my household was completely resolved. Praise God!
Living with Awareness and Authority
Beloved, be conscious of your position in Christ. You are not a spiritual beggar—you are a joint-heir with Christ and a citizen of heaven:
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ..." Romans 8:16–17 (KJV)
Understanding your inheritance includes knowing how to engage angelic assistance. I have experienced multiple angelic interventions in my life, and I will share more of them in upcoming messages.
Let your faith be active. Speak God’s Word. Command your morning. Dispatch angels by declaring the promises of God boldly.
"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." Job 22:28 (KJV)
You are not alone. Heaven is backing you—win with angels
